Where the dealer states the battery's state of health, the median is 88% for Leafs 4–7 years old and 85% for Leafs 8 years and over old. The battery is what to check: ask the dealer for a state-of-health printout, not the dash bars.
How much does it cost to charge an EV in NZ?
At the national average of 42.1c/kWh, an EV using 18 kWh per 100 km, plus 10% for charging losses, costs about $1,170 a year in power at 14,000 km, or about $580 charging overnight on a retailer's half-price EV plan. EVs also pay road user charges of $76 per 1,000 km.
How much could an EV save me in running costs?
